Arrival of clients at Palermo airport, transfer by private car to hotel in Palermo. Free time at leisure, free dinner. Night in Palermo at 4* hotel, located within walking distance of the center.
Breakfast at the hotel and full day of sightseeing in downtown Palermo. With your private guide you will set off on foot to explore the city's precious historic center, from the Martorana and San Cataldo (tickets to be purchased on site), to the Duomo (tickets to be purchased on site) and the city's main monument, the stunning Cappella Palatina with its royal apartments (skip-the-line tickets included). There will also be time to discover the 4 canti and the Pretoria Fountain, one of the most beautiful fountains in Italy. Free dinner and overnight stay.
The day will begin with a picturesque walk with a private guide through the city's main markets: Ballarò, Vucciria and Capo represent the heart of Palermo, a mix of colors, smells and sounds that perfectly embody the Palermo spirit. This is a memorable experience that will introduce you to the delights of local street food, from arancine (fried rice balls) to stigghiole, the "ca meusa" sandwich and pane e panelle (not included in the rate).
During your walk, your guide will take you on a discovery of the Oratories of Wonders (ticket to be purchased on site), monuments that are still little known in the city but will leave you speechless. A triumph of Baroque art, off-white stucco, playful putti and very curious tales of how they were created; the guide's words will enlighten you about this peculiar world of Palermo.
Next you will focus on artisanal excellence such as precious majolica: we will open for you a house museum completely carpeted with historic majolica dating back up to four centuries, a unique sight. Return to the hotel and second night in Palermo.
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer by van and private guide to Monreale: here you will admire the outstanding cathedral (tickets included) covered with mosaics from the Norman era, a true medieval masterpiece. The real surprise of the visit, however, will be the cathedral's very graceful cloister. Return to Palermo for lunchtime to enjoy a visit to the frightening Catacombs of the Capuchins (tickets can be purchased on site), filled with centuries-old skeletons of Palermo nobles, a unique and unmissable visit.
Check out from the hotel in Palermo and with van and private guide you will go to visit Segesta and Erice, with in between an interesting culinary stop where you will taste offered by us the most famous cannolo in the area in the shepherd's village of Dattilo.
Our guide will show you the best of these two gems of Western Sicily: Segesta (tickets included) will enchant you with its perfectly preserved Great Temple and its Theater in a panoramic position on the rocky hills of the area. In Erice, on the other hand, you will discover the enchanting alleys of one of the few perfectly preserved medieval centers on the island.
Late afternoon arrival in Trapani, stay at centrally located B&B.
Breakfast at the hotel, meet with your guide and private driver. Transfer to Selinunte, where you will visit one of Sicily's most famous archaeological sites. The Temple of Athena and the Temple of Zeus are the two wonders of this site, combined with the beauty of the landscape that gently slopes toward the coast east of Mazara del Vallo.
Next you will transfer to Marsala for a stroll through the center of this important ancient port, and return to Trapani via the famous salt pans, which we will try to show you at sunset where (weather permitting) the red and pink colors are reflected on the waters and salt piles creating a unique spectacle. Free dinner and overnight in Trapani.
Check out of the hotel in Trapani and transfer to Sciacca, to walk freely through this interesting seaside village.
You will end the day in Agrigento, where you will stay at B&Bs or hotels centrally located or near the Valley of the Temples.
Meet with your guide and half-day tour of the Valley of the Temples and the Archaeological Museum (you will reach the site by taxi-not included). The well-preserved ruins of three Doric temples testify to the glory of an ancient past dominated by Greek culture: this historic site has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1997.
Explore this splendid archaeological area accompanied by our professional local guide, who will reveal all the history of this area and provide you with extraordinary insights into the striking temples found on the site.
The Temple of Concord is the best preserved, as it was converted into a church in the 6th century, which prolonged its maintenance. The Temple of Juno, dedicated to the goddess of fertility, has some traces of fire visible on the walls of the cella, as it was badly damaged by the Carthaginians in 406 BC.
After visiting the Archaeological Museum, your guide will greet you by recommending a good restaurant where you can have lunch; free afternoon to stroll downtown. Overnight stay in Agrigento.
Check out from the hotel and transfer to Piazza Armerina where the Villa Romana del Casale is one of the most prestigious monuments of Ancient Rome. Our guide will show you all the details about the mosaic rooms of the villa, a mosaic heritage of inestimable importance.
At the end of the visit transfer to Enna, a small town on top of a hill, very authentic and relaxing, with an interesting castle that you can visit freely. Overnight at B&B in a central area.
Check out from the hotel and transfer to Cefalù. Free day to relax in this wonderful seaside village and to visit independently its wonderful Norman cathedral, as beautiful as, and perhaps even more so, than that of Monreale. Overnight at a 4-star hotel centrally located and a stone's throw from the sea.
Check out from the hotel and transfer to Bagheria to visit independently either the Villa Palagonia, also known as the "Villa of Monsters" for its very peculiar monstrous sculptures, or the Renato Guttuso Museum. By 3 p.m. we will take you to the airport so that you can depart with your flight. Hold and carry-on luggage included.
