1° day

Aug 31 -Arrival in Rome –Ancient Rome: the Colosseum and the Roman Forum (-/-/-)

Arrival at Rome’s airport; private transfer with driver to reach your hotel in Rome. You will stay at a 4* hotel, in double rooms, in a welcoming neighborhood of the city center. Meeting with your guide (for a 3-hour long guided tour) at hotel lobby and transfer by taxi to reach the Colosseum. Visit of the Colosseum (skip the line tickets included), called by the ancient Romans "Amphitheatrum Flavium", it was built by Emperor Vespasian around 72 AD, and inaugurated by his son Titus in 80 AD. Our guide will help you relive the atmosphere of the shows with wild beasts and gladiators that were held for centuries in this imposing monument. You will then visit the Roman Forum and the Imperial Forums, which are a series of five monumental squares built over the course of a century and a half (between 46 BC and 113 AD) in the heart of the city of Rome by Julius Caesar and the emperors Augustus, Vespasian, Nerva and Trajan. Overnight stay at the hotel.

2° day

Sep 1 -The Vatican Museums, St. Peter’s and the Sistine Chapel – Afternoon at leisure (B/-/-)

Breakfast at the hotel and meeting with your private guide. With a taxi (to be paid on the spot) you will go to the Vatican Museums (skip the line tickets included). The Vatican Museums' fame is more than well-deserved, given the priceless works such as the Sistine Chapel, which houses Michelangelo's The Last Judgment and The Creation of Adam, Raphael's rooms, the Gallery of Maps and the Cortile della
Pigna. From the museums we'll arrive at St. Peter's Basilica, where at the entrance we'll immediately find the wonderful statue of the Pieta by Michelangelo, along with other masterpieces of rare beauty. After a 4-hour visit you will have the afternoon at leisure to wander around the Eternal city on your own. Overnight stay at the hotel.

3° day

Sep 2 – Visit of baroque treasures of the city center - Afternoon at leisure in Rome (B/- /-)

After breakfast, our guide will lead the way to the Baroque gems and precious squares of Rome’s centre. Our visit starts from the beautiful Navona Square and its famous Fountain of the Four Rivers realized by the brilliant Gian Lorenzo Bernini, this masterpiece is framed by beautiful buildings and monuments designed by famous architects such as Francesco Borromini. The next highlights you will marvel will be the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps and the stunning Trevi Fountain: here, traditionally for
good luck, you can throw a coin. Afternoon at leisure.

4° day

Sep 3 – SARACEN JOUST in AREZZO - Florence

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and in the late morning private transfer to Arezzo. Here you will meet a local guide that will disclose all traditions and curiosities about Arezzo’s SARACEN JOUST. You will get to meet the locals that pass on this Medieval traditional festival throughout centuries. Our guide will first unveil all the artistic treasures of Arezzo, the city where Benigni filmed its Oscar winning “La Vita è Bella”. Then you will watch all preparations for the Joust that you will enjoy with the privileged aid of our host. The city’s neighbourhoods challenge each other in the Joust, where medieval knights have to hit with their lances the Saracen (Moor) puppet. Every hit gives a certain number of points but watch out for his flail because it cuts all your points if the knight gets hit! Consider that the rules have been written more than 200 years ago and never changed since then! After the Joust our driver will take you to your 4 star hotel in Florence.

5° day

Sep 4 -Florence highlights and Michelangelo’s David (B/-/-)

Half day walking tour in the heart of Florence with our private guide (4-hour total). A radiant city we would like to present you through a pleasant stroll along the main points of interest, starting with Piazza Santa Croce and then Piazza del Duomo, centerpiece of religious life. Let yourself be amazed by the façade of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and its magnificent dome by Brunelleschi, the
Giotto’s Bell Tower and the octagonal Baptistery of Saint John. Reaching Piazza della Signoria, you will soon realize why Florence has been often designated an “open-air museum”. With the Loggia dei Lanzi on one side and Palazzo Vecchio on the other, the square is a great example of different sculptural and architectural styles. Your final stop will be the Accademia Gallery (skip the line tickets included), where the guide will reveal all the interesting details about the world-famous David by Michelangelo (did you know its eyes are heart shaped?). At the end of the visits, relax back at your hotel in the city center. Overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, day at leisure to explore Florence on your own. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Sep 6 -Train to Venice – Venice Food Tour (B/L/-)

Breakfast at the hotel, check out, private transfer to the station and train ride to reach Venice. Together with your professional guide (3-hour long tour) learn more about the regional products, gastronomic traditions and Venice’s cuisine history while strolling in the Rialto market, which has been stirring the Venetians’ appetite for seven centuries. Explore the narrow charming alleyways and hidden canals
nearby and enter a typical Bacaro for a taste of local cuisine. Sample plates of the Venetian snacks – known as Cicchetti and try local specialties like marinated seafood with polenta sipping a glass of regional wine and Prosecco. Afternoon at leisure to relax or explore the city. You will sleep at a 4* hotel, with central position, very comfortable and with a strong identity.

8° day

Sep 7 -Venice tour: spiritual and temporal power – Afternoon at leisure (B/-/-)

Breakfast at the hotel. 2-hours guided tour of the heart of Venice. The journey through the wonders of Venice starts at St. Mark’s Square, the political, social and religious heart of the Maritime Republic. Breathe the power of this place while admiring the Bell Tower and the Clock Tower adorning the airy square before plunging into the discovery of the two main landmarks of Venice. On request, you can visit the magnificent Basilica dedicated to the Patron Saint of the city and be
inspired by its glittering golden mosaics, a finest example of Byzantine architecture in Western Europe. Learn how this holy place was built and the difficulties it had to bear due to severe weather conditions. Breathe then the power of the Great Council in the Doge’s Palace (visit on request), with its stunning grand halls embellished by superb paintings by Titian, Veronese and Tintoretto. At the end of the tour, afternoon at leisure and overnight stay at the hotel.

9° day

Sep 8- Vicenza - MAROSTICA LIVE CHESS PERFORMANCE (B/-/-)

Breakfast at the hotel and in the late morning check out and private boat to reach Piazzale Roma where a car at disposal will first take you to Vicenza, a precious gem in Veneto region. Vicenza has flourished particularly during Renaissance period, between XV and XVI centuries, and it is considered today as “the city of Palladio”, the most important architect of the Republic of Venice. Palladio, with its pure neoclassical style, is also considered “the father of American architecture”: as a
matter of fact the White House and Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello residence in Virginia follow the Palladian style! After a visit of the precious city center, you will move with your guide and driver to the beautiful hills dominating Vicenza to visit the most magnificent Villa ever built by Palladio, La Rotonda, a symbol of beauty and perfection, one of the most impressive Renaissance monuments in
Italy. In the late afternoon you will move to Marostica, a small medieval town north of Vicenza, famous for hosting in its precious main square a huge chessboard. Our guide will lead you through the folkloric chess tradition of the town, where actual people bring the chessboard to life in a chess challenge of real live kings, knights and pawns fighting against each other! Lights up at 9pm in the main square under
the eyes of hundreds of spectators! After the show transfer to your nearby 5 star hotel in Asolo.

10° day

Sep 9 – Departure from Treviso or Venice airport

Breakfast at the hotel and check out in the late morning. Private transfer to reach Venice or Treviso airport.
