In the last home of Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, the famous author of Il Gattopardo (The Leopard), you can immerse yourself in the traditions of an ancient Sicily, surrounded by the charm of Palazzo Lanza Tomasi, which is located in the historic center of Palermo.

A week full of unique moments, from cooking lessons with the Duchess to the studying the Grand Ball, and even learning some expressions of the Sicilian dialect. Accommodation is provided at the Butera 28 Apartments, located inside the Lanza Tomasi Palace. The apartments have a kitchen equipped with everything needed for cooking, breakfast is not included. During your stay you will have free time to discover Palermo on your own or guided by a professional tour guide who we will be happy to provide. Palermo is a city full of charm, its enchanting history is breathed in every corner, and the smell of street food will be a wonderful excuse for an unforgettable gastronomic tour.

Selected for you: PALAZZO LANZA TOMASI – BUTERA APARTMENTS 28

The charming Butera 28 apartments are located in the eighteenth-century Palazzo Lanza Tomasi, overlooking the Gulf of Palermo. In 1849 the palace was bought by Prince Giulio Fabrizio Tomasi di Lampedusa. Giulio Fabrizio, amateur astronomer, will be the model of the protagonist of The Leopard, the famous novel written by his great-grandson Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. The palace was the last residence of the writer until his death in 1957, and now houses his house museum.

Palazzo Lanza Tomasi is a notified historic residence and its owners are members of ADSI, the Italian Historic Houses Association. Butera 28 offers the independence of a fully equipped independent apartment, equipped with air conditioning and all comforts, with the privilege of living in a unique and fascinating environment, immersed in the history, culture and literature of Sicily.

1° day

PALERMO

Arrival in Palermo and accommodation in the apartment after 15:00.
7.30 pm Welcome dinner at the Palazzo Lanza Tomasi, followed by a private visit of the palace. The Duke and Duchess will take you on a fascinating tour through the beautifully restored rooms of the palace, where you will have the privilege of admiring the original manuscript of Prince Tomasi di Lampedusa's immortal masterpiece, The Leopard. Overnight.

2° day

PALERMO

Morning dance: from 10:00 to 11:30 nineteenth-century dance lesson at the Sala dei Ventagli of Palazzo Lanza Tomasi.
The rest of the day will be at your leisure and dedicated to the discovery of the beauties of Palermo. Overnight.

3° day

PALERMO

Morning dance: from 10:00 to 11:30 nineteenth-century dance lesson at the Sala dei Ventagli of Palazzo Lanza Tomasi.
Afternoon: a lesson in Sicilian dialect! An afternoon to discover the true Sicilian traditions, learning a few words and funny expressions of one of the most colorful dialects in Italy. The workshop will be held from 16:00 to 18:00 at the Sala dei Ventagli of Palazzo Lanza Tomasi. Overnight.

4° day

PALERMO

Morning dance: from 10:00 to 11:30 nineteenth-century dance lesson at the Sala dei Ventagli of Palazzo Lanza Tomasi.
Afternoon: surprise experience signed by Danza il Tuo Viaggio. Details will be communicated to you prior to your arrival in Palermo. Overnight.

5° day

PALERMO

Morning dance: from 10:00 to 11:30 nineteenth-century dance lesson at the Sala dei Ventagli of Palazzo Lanza Tomasi.
Free afternoon to dedicate to the discovery of Palermo and its surroundings. Overnight.

6° day

Cooking class with the Duchess! It is not just a Sicilian cooking lesson in a place out of the ordinary. It is a unique culinary and cultural experience, an exciting journey through the food and history of Sicily in the last home of Prince Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, author of the famous novel Il Gattopardo.
The Duchess of Palma will take you early in the morning to the picturesque Capo market where you will choose the freshest seasonal ingredients, and will let you discover some of the hidden beauties of Palermo, one of the most seductive cities in the Mediterranean. At the market you will be transported into a glittering world of Mediterranean sounds, scents and colors, walking among the stalls overflowing with fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, the famous Sicilian citrus fruits, spices, bread covered with sesame seeds, freshly baked by the wood oven.
Back at the palace, a stop on the luxuriant terrace, a real hanging garden full of Mediterranean and subtropical essences. There you will collect the herbs, flowers and citrus fruits best suited to enhance the flavors of the Sicilian dishes that you will prepare in the welcoming kitchen of the building, under the expert guidance of the Duchess.
The menu you have created will be served in the elegant dining room overlooking the sea.
