A relaxing holiday on Mount Amiata which was generated over 180,000 years ago by volcanic eruptions. The first traces of life date back to the Paleolithic, as attested by the rock paintings of the Grotta dell'Arciere . Since then, through the various eras, Monte Amiata has always attracted to itself different populations who have adored it as the Mother Mountain or exploited it as an invaluable source of material and spiritual resources and who have made it for this, a territory rich in legends and traditions. From the Etruscans to the Romans, from the Middle Ages – to which almost all the settlements still present today date back – to the modern era, with Davidian mysticism and mining exploitation. The folk and cultural heritage of Monte Amiata constitutes a fascinating world, at times mysterious, where the past and the present come together to give life to museums, gardens, parks, festivals, parties and celebrations. It is not possible to tell the ancient history of the volcano in a few lines: the only way to discover it is to live it and let yourself be conquered by it. There will be important moments to savor typical products and recipes of the territory.
