OPTIONAL EXCURSION "TAORMINA FOOD EXPERIENCE":
The "Walking Food Experience" excursion will begin in the alleys of the enchanting Taormina and guests will "jump" from one taste sensation to another in a pleasant walk with a local food specialist. Sicilian street food differs from province to province, and here in the province of Messina you will have the opportunity to taste some specialties that you will not find elsewhere. The first Sicilian specialty will be the "Focaccia" or "Cartucciata" or "Scacciata": a thicker pizza than Neapolitan pizza, topped with Sicilian cheese, tomatoes and a typical local vegetable, curly endive, with a slightly sour taste. The second Sicilian specialty will be the Arancino. You can find it everywhere in Sicily, but on the east coast the shape is different: it is not a perfect "ball" but has a tip like ETNA and is therefore easier to bite into. Taste is truly an experience not to be missed. After eating, you will certainly be thirsty and it will be possible to try the “chinotto”, a drink with the taste of bitter oranges. Continuing to walk, you will taste the Cannolo, a typical Sicilian dessert. The "food experience" will finally end with a refreshing dessert and in the province of Messina what could be better than a Granita? The tastes are innumerable: the traditional ones are coffee, lemon and almonds.
Dinner (if provided for by the solution booked) and overnight stay in the Taormina area.
