What is the first thing you think of when you hear the word Carrara? We bet it’s the marble quarries and their dazzling white? We invite you on a 4×4 adventure to discover the world of quarries and quarrymen. You will visit ancient quarries, quarries in the making, and quarries in tunnels. You will admire breathtaking views and, amidst columns dating back to Roman times and ancient workings, learn about excavation and processing techniques during past centuries. The guide will tell you curiosities and anecdotes about Carrara and its Marble Civilisation, until you reach the quarrying heart of the quarry. Here you will see the machinery used today and will analyse various themes of marble, its extraction and transport, its origin, its market and other curiosities. A day of intense emotions, suggestive views and pure white.
