Veneto – From the Venetian canals to the Palladian villas, the Dolomites and… Prosecco!

Veneto boasts beauties located in the plains, on the hills, by the sea and in the mountains. From ancient villas to theaters, from monuments to places of art, from historic cities to seaside resorts, and also mountain resorts renowned for their suggestiveness. All places with different characteristics but which, at least once in a lifetime, deserve to be seen.

  • Bassano del Grappa:

crossed by the Brenta river, Bassano del Grappa is one of the most populated and developed cities in the Veneto. The historical events that have affected this small town and its surroundings have shaped the appearance of this beautiful village. The Ponte Vecchio is certainly not to be missed. Its original structure was made of wood, but following flooding of the river and damage caused by wars it was destroyed and rebuilt several times.

  • Murano:

Murano, the blown glass island is located in the Venetian lagoon, not far from Venice. In its nine islets crossed by a wide channel, an artistic tradition is handed down, the work done by the Murano people. Walking along the two main canals, you will come across numerous shops and glass factories.

  • Park of the Belluno Dolomites :

it is an area of considerable naturalistic interest which, developing at altitudes ranging from 400 to 2,500 meters in height, includes a great variety of environments. Here it is possible to find broad-leaved woods, coniferous forests, high-altitude shrubs, meadows and rubble.

  • Verona:

the Roman Amphitheater, better known as the “Arena”, is, together with Romeo and Juliet, the symbol that makes Verona famous all over the world and the first thing that tourists choose to see as soon as they set foot in the city. But Verona is a concentrate of artistic, historical and cultural testimonies immersed in the evocative atmosphere of alleys and squares such as Piazza Brà, where the liston is located. Here you will find the pink Valpolicella marble paving, the same used to build the Roman Amphitheater. But the discovery of this wonderful territory also passes through its most famous places:

Calli that give life to an open-air labyrinth , ancient buildings steeped in history, majestic and elegant theaters, imposing and always crowded churches. This is Venice, one of the most beautiful and popular cities in the world. Venice is one of the cities of Europe, if not the world, to have the highest number of bridges within its territory: there are over 400, made of stone, iron or wood. there are seven wines produced in the area. The absolute protagonist is the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG , a true symbol of the territory. The Prosecco road offers several possible itineraries. During the journey, suggestive landscapes open up and you will touch stages of historical and cultural value. Conegliano is a lively center where the Higher School of Viticulture and Oenology was opened as early as 1877, one of the most prestigious in Italy.

Giotto’s Cappella degli Scrovegni, the most important pictorial cycle in the world , alone would be enough to justify a visit to Padua. Still on the subject of art, the Civic Museums gather a fine collection of painters, especially from the Veneto region, and another cycle of frescoes, that of Giusto de ‘Menabuoi, is preserved in the Baptistery of the Cathedral. We cannot forget the presence of the “Saint” as the Paduans call him: Saint Anthony whose age-old presence in the city is found not only in the relics preserved in the Basilica but also in the many sweets that bear his name.

from the snow-capped mountains, to the gentle hills, to the small towns on the shores, including some islands in the center of the lake, Lake Garda is a destination that can satisfy everyone, at any time of the year. Not to be missed is Sirmione. It is immersed in the Garda waters at the entrance to the town, the Scaligera fortress of Sirmione was built in the second half of the fourteenth century. Among the main attractions are the dock, the walls, the crenellated towers and the keep with its 37 meters high.
