the ascent to Passo Mendola by means of the Funicular is a suggestive and romantic journey for the breathtaking view over the Adige valley and the Bassa Atesina. It is one of the largest European funiculars. The difference in altitude of 854 meters is overcome with an average gradient of 40%, but in the last stretch it reaches a level of 64%. Today it is among the steepest in the entire Alpine arc.
Lake Braies is now unanimously considered the most beautiful lake in the Dolomites.
