Piedmont – Langhe wines, Alba truffles and the splendid islands of Lake Maggiore

This region is full of many places throughout the territory that undoubtedly deserve to be seen at least once in a lifetime.

  • Borromean Islands:

they are located on Lake Maggiore and are a true earthly paradise where nature, culture and art blend perfectly. It is no coincidence that this area is chosen as a holiday destination by many stars of the show. Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola dei Pescatori are the three main ones, but there are also the Isolino di San Giovanni and the Scoglio della Malghera. Among the most beautiful villas there are certainly Villa Taranto, Villa Ducale and Villa Pallavicino.

  • Royal Palace of Venaria Reale:

the Palace was declared a Unesco heritage site in 1997, and represents one of the highest expressions of Italian Baroque . Not to be missed are the Giardini di Venaria Reale, which have returned to their ancient beauty after a very long restoration. In the park there is the Potager Royal , a ten-hectare orchard, whose products are sold in the various refreshment points.

  • Ivrea:

land of flavors and panoramas, Ivrea is a perfect destination for those who want to spend a relaxing and comfortable holiday. An obligatory stop is certainly the one at the Tecnologic @ mente Laboratory-Museum , linked to a very important name for the city, Olivetti. This space exhibits examples of typewriters such as the Lettera 22 and the Valentine, along with various models of calculators and personal computers.

  • Racconigi Castle:

the Royal Castle of Racconigi was for centuries the home of numerous nobles and royalty, especially linked to the Savoy family. Today, however, it is a museum of great interest . Inside there are richly decorated rooms: the Hall of Hercules, the Hall of Diana, the Chinese apartment, the Cabinet of Apollo, the Etruscan Cabinet and the Chapel of the Palace. Absolutely not to be missed:

considered one of the most romantic lakes in Italy , Lake Orta is a quiet place, full of history and breathtaking views. Less chaotic than the more famous nearby lakes, it is ideal for those looking for a magical and less “touristy” atmosphere. (click here to reveal a splendid itinerary)

ancient capital of Savoy, capital of industry, city of art and culture , pole of innovation. Here you can find: The Mole Antonelliana, the Egyptian Museum, the royal residences, the Holy Shroud, and much more including internationally renowned events, such as the Book Fair, the Taste Fair and the Turin Film Festival. in 2014 the wine-growing landscapes of Langhe, Monferrato and Roero were recognized as a World Heritage Site . Six areas, in 29 different municipalities, have been awarded for their history and for the indissoluble link between man and landscape. it is a lovely alpine center located in the Maritime Alps. In the colder months the ski slopes are the protagonists, with 80 kilometers of snow-covered trails and 17 ski lifts. Famous is the train of Wonders , a convoy that connects Limone to Cuneo and Ventimiglia, along the suggestive slopes and through wonderful views.
