From the union of two inhabited centers, a third was born that has incorporated both of them. For this reason in Imperia there are two ports, two historic centers and two beaches . Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Monterosso and Vernazza are the villages suspended between sea and land that give life to the Cinque Terre. These villages overlooking the sea are part of a National Park and have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997, to preserve this kingdom of wild scents. Not just the sea: in the hinterland there are beautiful medieval villages, characteristic sanctuaries, artisan shops and typical dishes to taste. Ventimiglia is a pretty Ligurian town just 8 km from France and the renowned Côte d’Azur. It is nicknamed the ” western gate of Italy “, precisely because it is one of the most comfortable and used access routes to reach France. Ventimiglia boasts several religious and non-religious buildings, interesting to visit both from an architectural and artistic point of view, and all of them arouse great interest in tourists, such as the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.
